Learning Scottish Gaelic through the Ùlpan method (details on the website)

is a revolutionary language learning system first pioneered in the Middle East. Since then, it has been used to teach Welsh and Breton and has was adapted for Scottish Gaelic a few years ago by Deiseal Earranta Ltd. Over 2500 students signed up over the years and 187 tutors trained to deliver the course which consists of 144 x 1.5 hour lessons and covers beginner level all the way to advanced.

It includes grammar at intermediate level from the start, so you are required to do additional study of verbs. For this purpose you will be given FREE access to the Cùrsa Ro-ìre and FREE access to the Intermediate Verb use Course online resources. You will need to purchase the course books yourself as I will refer to it for homework tasks. Downloadable soundfiles to practice with are available and you also get FREE access to our Ceist Iomadh-Roghainne (online revision quizzes). You are also encouraged to join the conversation & Revision sessions especially set up for our Love Gaelic Ùlpan students.

You will learn Gaelic through listening and speaking foremost. We will drill short phrases (listening, speaking, memorizing exercises, reading a short dialogue and learning activities. Every lesson is accompanied by a worksheet with the vocabulary list, a translation exercise, a comprehension exercise and a soundfile. You can complete homework tasks to ensure you are duly prepared for the fast-paced lesson.
