Short Gaelic Immersion Breaks
Gu Saoghal Na Gàidhlig
Immersion Breaks and Language Learning Breaks
Our immersion breaks are the ideal opportunity for beginner to advanced learners to come together to focus on the practical conversation development of Gaelic in a relaxed, fun environment that stimulates conversation. There will be minimal use of English and all are encouraged to keep a daily Gaelic diary for reflection and further development of the use of the language. Daily Activities will depend on the length of the break and will include island excursions, wildlife watching, crofting life, walking etc. (some activities weather dependent) The immersion breaks encourage vocabulary development and enable students to connect to the Gaelic language in the heartland of the language bringing a sense of belonging and a part of the Gaelic World with a feeling of belonging to the Gaelic.
We are proud to work in collaboration with www.igot2travel.com/hebridean-day-trips to arrange unforgettable experiences and as many of you can't make it to the islands, we also run intensive week/weekend courses on mainland Scotland or further afield.

The Islands
The Uists and Harris
Few places are as evocative as the Outer Hebrides and where better to try out your new language skills than in the heartland of Gaelic in the Outer Hebrides.
The Gaelic language is still spoken on these islands on a daily basis and is classed as a working language and can be heard across all islands from Lewis to Barra. Through our short immersion breaks, you will be able to practice communicating in the language with your fellow students and while out on our fields trips converse with locals in different locations. This helps build up confidence in conversation and allows you to put to use your newly learned skills.
The Packages
Only the Best
Imagine the opportunity to spend a weekend at a Hebridean retreat away from the outside world where you will immerse yourself in all that is Gaelic. Take the opportunity to meet other students, go on motorboat trips around this secluded area, explore the islands, sing some Gaelic songs, sit and relax by a warm fire and try out all you have learned. Through this relaxed and informal setting, the learning journey is fun and rewarding and we know from past experience students love it.
